"I did not
realize the size of the community of wire artists.
It is pleasing for someone previously on the outside to be part of the
International Wire Sculptors Guild."
Welcome to
Wire Sculpture International. We are here to increase wire sculptors'
awareness of each others' works, to share resources, and to gain
greater visibility, credibility, and prestige for wire sculpture as a
medium.
Membership
to Wire Sculpture International is granted by invitation and by jury.
All types of wire and methods of wire sculpture are welcome.
Wirists listed within WSI's Directory
of Wire Sculptors
are automatically qualified for membership in Wire Sculpture
International.
Guidelines
for submitting wirework to the
Directory are simple. Submitted
works must consist of at least 75% wire content.
- when you got started with wire
- how you got started with wire
- about your technique
- what makes your work distinctive
Include up to 3 SMALL .jpg images, about 300x300. [If you're not sure
how to get them that small, ASK us.]
Submit
images and info to wireladye@yahoo.com
We are especially interested in finding the "quiet" wire artists, who
don't have a visible web presence. Please help them out, and bring them
to our attention.
Our special thanks to Michael Ball, who assembled a basic wire
directory as part of his excellent Wire
Magic
site.
