Mrs/Miss Berrien,
I
am very amazed and impressed by your wire sculpture and cannot
believe what you can do with wire, the life you seem to infuse into
your art pieces, the gestures and contours your wire sculptures have!
I am taking a class at the community college and I am very frustrated
by the 3D wire project. That's how I found you...looking into the
internet for ways to 'see' and visualize how to work with this bailing
wire that I find it to be so harsh for the hands and for my mind! I am
doing a crow/raven and is looking like Terminator bird! I guess there
is something difficult for me about visualizing volumes with wire that
makes my solid mind totally confused....
I hope someday I can see your amazing works here in Los Angeles, I can
see from the photos that the scale is impressive too! Is there any
traveling exhibition heading this way?

I'm
betting your wire crow/raven is a lot more recognizable than my first
cat, so take heart! Go ahead and title it "Terminator Bird", it'll be a
blast and your next project will be a tad easier. If you want to see my
works in Los Angeles, head for the Zoo. THey have my California Condor
with 9 1/2ft wingspan flying across the entry courtyard, and several
larger African animal further in. Happy wiring -

Reiki
Master and International Animal Communicator
Linda S. Wahlund
offers a
wonderful weekend of classic Reiki & Reiki for Animals. This
workshop takes place in Elizabeth Berrien's 100 year old barn, restored
to an artist's studio in a rustic setting in Eureka, CA. Elizabeth's
mustang horse, Dutch, will be pressent for this Reiki workshop.
Reiki is a gentle and natural healing art. Elizabeth Berrien has
trained
with Linda Wahlund for several years. The benefits include a greatly
heightened intuitive attunement, which is reflected in the increasing
expressiveness of Berrien wire sculptures.
OCTOBER WORKSHOPS ARE OCTOBER 2nd 3rd & 4th. Morning
classes
from 9:30 – 1 Lunch Afternoon classes from
2-4:30. Take
one, or take them all!

10, 2010: Meet Elizabeth Berrien!
On
Saturday September 11, come to The Highlight Gallery in Mendocino, CA.
View the huge wire Dragon and Pegasus wire sculptures suspended from
the ceiling, and many other animal, human and abstract sculptures
throughout the gallery. Elizabeth will bring several riveting works in
progress, and demonstrate her amazing technique of creating intricate
wire sculptures with her bare hands.
Elizabeth
will be at Highlight from noon to 3PM, and again from 5 to 8PM.
On Friday
September 17, come to The Blacksmith Shop in Ferndale CA,
from 6 to 9PM and visit with
Elizabeth while wire creatures fly
from
her agile fingers... This is a great opportunity to arrange a custom
wire sculpture for your home, garden or corporate setting. |

28, 2010: Coming Soon: Meet Elizabeth in Mendocino and Arcata!
Elizabeth
joins Mendocino's "Second Saturday" celebration of the arts on
Saturday, April 10th. She'll demonstrate her lacelike, ultra-complex
and totaly unique wire sculpture technique from noon to 3PM, and from
5PM to 8PM for The Highlight Gallery's evening reception, with
refreshments.
Later in April, Elizabeth will exhibit several wildlife wire sculptures
at the Godwit Days International Bird Festival in Arcata, CA.
Traditionally, Elizabeth enjoys working from life, as she studies and
wires up Eagles, falcons, owls and other raptors brought by Humboldt
Wildlife Care Center for eduational purposes. |

Hello,

We were in the Mendocino gallery a few days ago and totally enjoyed the
display of your wire work. We have since looked at your website to see
even more of your wonderful creations. My husband bought this one for
me for my birthday. We thought there were a lot of characteristics in
it that reminded us so much of our Maine Coon, Chelsea. We are enjoying
seeing it on our wall now that we are home from our trip. Jeanne and
