Elizabeth Berrien's latest
master work, more than a year in the making. Commissioned for a private
home in New Zealand.

Berrien
became fascinated with collecting atlases, globes and maps to study
deeply as reference materials. She started simple, and gradually
created more complex earth forms.

Berrien's interest in
earth
forms
started with a corporate inquiry - an architectural design firm hoping
to commission a 17-ft wire Earth Map for a three story corporate entry.
Elizabeth was intrigued.

She'd often felt that the intricate, organic
lines of our living planet and its features - continents, great river
and mountain ranges would make a glorious translation into wire. |

America #1 ,
a spare and
detailed portrait of the continent Berrien lives on. This image
triggered several requests for additional 2D "Wire Map" wall art and
murals. |
Berrien's
next version of North
America
was commissioned by Bekaert Wire
Corporation, incorporating their unusual color-coated high-tech wires,
for one of their North American sites.

portraits of the artist's own two hands, cradling
the earth protectively.
This image works wonderfully as a wall art mural in a middle school on
the east coast. It's easy to commission a wire sculpture. Just call the
