Ahhhh...........think of the ease of a bird in the sky. The wind
slipping through its feather while also supporting the weight of the
body. Easy as pie, as they say!
While in meditation one day, Linda
S. Wahlund, a Reiki master, was
shown that she was to use two eagle feathers in her healing work. While
traditionally real feathers are used, Linda was shown two wire
sculpture feathers knitted together by her friend and mentor, Elizabeth
Berrien. So of course, the feathers came and were eagle feathers, one a
tail feather and one a flight feather.
The day came for initiation and blessing of the feathers. Linda called
in the spirits of the eagle and the other birds from the sky. The
feathers were smudged, blessed and initiated for the use of sacred
healing. Linda blessed the feathers in such a way that they may be used
to bring great good, but they can never be used to bring harm. They are
dedicated as healing feathers.
The way to use the feathers became apparent as Linda used them for the
first time in a healing session. The tail feather was used for
grounding, much like a bird would use them for a rudder to stay on
course. The flight feather was used to channel information and healing
energy into parts of the body needing it.
The two feathers facilitated Linda and her client to slip easily into
other realms, to see and retrieve important life information. And when
the session was near closing, the feathers took on a life of their own
- sweeping, smoothing and again grounding the session to bring all
members back to this earth time.
