EUREKA -- Wire sculptor Elizabeth Berrien will hold an open studio and figment sale from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at her studio, located upstairs at 207 G St.. She will also give wire sculpture demonstrations from noon to 3 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday during Arts Alive.
Berrien, who is ranked among the world's foremost wire sculptors, will have an assortment of works in progress on display, including wire cats, horses, wildlife and birds.
As a popular and affordable element of her open studios, Berrien sweeps up unfinished fragments of wire sculptures and offers them for sale as "figments," some for as little as $10.
"These are the expressive little animal bits which, for various reasons, were paused at some point and never completed," Berrien said.
Studio visitors can also view the artist's portfolio, with hundreds of images from her 36-year career.
