Elizabeth Berrien has created
amazing wire
sculptures and illustrations for over 40 years. While her expertise is
esepcially sharp with animals and humans, she adds the same energy to
inanimate objects, from architectural elements to spacecraft.
Berrien's striking wire ad series for BBC, "Cables, Guns, Food", swept
the 2008 international awards circuit with an array of prestigious
awards including a Clio, Cannes Gold Lion, One Show Gold Pencils, 2
Gold Andy's, 2 Grands from London International, and the Obie Best of
Show... culminating with the honor of the Big Won... "Best
Innovative/Alternative
Media"... worldwide.
Elizabeth Berrien has been presented with a D&AD Awards 2008
nomination for a Yellow Pencil Award for Outstanding Achievement. |

Major clients include BBDO, BBC,
Motorola,
Nieman-Marcus, National Park
Service, Hadley Exhibits, The Nature Company, Disney World, Saatchi
& Saatchi, Gensler and Associates, Disney World, Marine
World/Africa USA, The Los Angeles Zoo, Louisville International
Airport, Parc des Topiares (Belgium), and Usui Design (Tokyo), Bal
Harbour Shops, Bel Villaggio Shops, various international architects
and designers.
Berrien has received a
deluge of inquiries for private and corporate commissions by architects
and designers who insist on "the very best". Recently requested
proposals include full-scale humans, north American wildlife, equines,
and an elephant. The artist is also preparing a series of 2D wire
images for licensing onto a product line. |
Animals have always been a
presence in
Elizabeth Berrien's life. She
lives on a farm on California's rugged north coast with cats, dogs and
horses, and occasional visits from foxes, raccoons, bears and mountain
lions.
Because there have been more inquiries than she can answer personally
about her life and her creative process, Elizabeth is working on the
manuscript of her memoirs, spanning several decades of rich, creative
experience, hilarious pratfalls, and sometimes harrowing but always
rewarding life adventures. |
